Pwize Guidelines

Procedure:

At the beginning of the shift, PrizeMaster calls for anipals to follow them for prizes. Repeat this information at least twice.

PrizeMaster announces the next prize giving details:

1. Please note whether prize can ship internationally or is for US only,
2. Twitter handle of donor,
3. A photo of the prize,
4. The webpage link which shows the prize

If any of that information is missing, give as many details as are available.

PrizeMaster calls for DMs several times whether it be 15 or 30 minutes between prizes.

PrizeMaster to warn how much time is left to DM before prize is drawn (e.g. 5 minutes, 2 minutes, or 30 seconds).

PrizeMaster to advise TIME UP and how he will choose the winner.

PrizeMaster may determine the winner by either:

1. Counting the number of entries and using http://www.random.org to generate to the entry number of the winner, or
2. Giving the pwize to the first anipal to DM.

Prize Master announces the winner and tags the donor in the tweet. Send the winner a DM and let them know they won, also.

Winner must tweet or DM Prize Master/Mistress:

1. Time delay is at the discretion of the Prize Master/Mistress.
2. If the winner does not contact Prize Master/Mistress then another winner is chosen.

PrizeMaster Enters the winner's twitter handle into the pwize spreadsheet.

PrizeMaster may either:

1. Ask the winner to give their info to the pwize donor via DM, or
2. Ask the winner if they would prefer you pass their information to the donor via DM. If this is the winner’s preference, get their address via DM.

Keep the spreadsheet updated with the winners information. Please do not leave until you do this.

1. The winner will give their info to the donor, or
2. The winner wants you to give their info to the donor, and record “yes” when you have done so.

If the winner wants you to give their address to the donor, contact the donor via DM. Identify the prize won and give them the winner’s address.

Do not put personal information like the winner’s address on the spreadsheet.

For donation prizes, just record the winner’s twitter handle on the spreadsheet.

Must be present at the pawty to win.

Be alert for professional gamers who try to win prizes but don't otherwise participate in the pawty, resellers, and those running serial scams. Tell them the prize is for those who are attending #ChiliPawy, that the pawty is a charity event, and to please donate if they can (give them the donation link). For the purpose of this document, a serial scammer is someone who apparently earns a living on twitter using sad stories. Multiple fundraising campaigns should be a clue.

If you have a question about the validity of an entry, feel free to post it in the prizemaster DM thread. Many of us have seen some of these scammers operate so we can help identify them.

Keep the spreadsheet updated with the winners information so we can prevent one anipal from beating out others to win multiple prizes. Use your best judgment there, because sometimes party attendance is light so it’s not unusual for anipals to win more than one prize.

Please ignore DM from anipals in the same household (after they have already won a prize) during your shift.

If the winner isn't in the target country, they may give their prize to a friend from that country.

If there are no prize entries, indicate "no winner" on the spreadsheet and post it in the prizemaster DM thread, and let @tweetingtruman know. Truman may choose another prizemaster to try to give the prize away later.
